Organizers

Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Faculty of Horticulture, Biotechnology and Landscape Architecture, Department of Environmental Protection

Venue: Scientific International Conference in Warsaw Centre, Golden Tulip Hotel

Aim of conference:

The problems of landscape protection, planning and management are specific in the face of challenges existing in XXI century. These challenges are strictly connected with environmental change and development in the scale of regions, countries and continents.

The concepts ‘landscape’ and ‘environment’ have a lot in common. Landscape protection and management should be integrated and harmonised with environment and development strategies and activities, among others considering adaptation to climate change, energetics, transition to green economy, flood protection, protection against drought, better resistance to violent weather phenomena et cetera.

The aim of the conference is to exchange experience, knowledge and ideas as regards landscape planning, protection and management in the face of current environmental challenges – in different countries, and try to find better solutions. Presentation of problems, legal instruments for landscape protection and management, indicating of advantages and disadvantages of these tools would be very valuable and useful.
